    • "My association with Nightlife began several years ago when they were striving to sing the gold medal. I was immediately impressed by their vocal command, agility, and musicality.

    "The richness of their blend evoked the textures of blues and gospel with which the roots of barbershop harmony are closely intertwined.

    "Inspired by their sound and style, I created a number of arrangements for them, beginning with "Basin Street Blues", which became a signature song and the title cut of their previous recording. They quickly demonstrated their ability to render a song with unusual color, mood and personality.
